Good Morning,
Well, this is Dan and my 21st
day of hunkering down.
Yesterday we decided to support one of our local restaurants and order out. We rewarded ourselves, and downloaded Door Dash. This is the first, and it went very smoothly. I like it because it shows how long it takes before the food will arrive, where to leave it, who will leave it and it was very simple. Dan and I ordered Mediterranean and for a change had a delicious meal that I didn’t have to cook.

The other day I received an email, which I
would like to share with you. I never
thought of my tongue as healing and the power it holds.
It starts with this verse in the bible;
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those that love it will eat its
fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Did you ever wonder why you were created
with a tongue? As I was reading the
email it had me thinking? The tongue is
used for two purposes - eating or making sounds.
When we eat, we are either feeding our
body with health and wellness, or the opposite of which can lead to disease or
death.
When we speak or make sounds, this can
also be useful or harmful. They can either
build others up or tear them down. They
can create a place of peace or one of disharmony. The fruit of our words can either give hope,
or discouragement.
With the uncertainty and hunkering down,
we all need positive words and eat healthy foods in order to keep our bodies
and souls healthy.
When you think about your tongue remember
it is very powerful, and you can choose on how you will use it. The promise from God’s word, we will eat the
fruit; it will either be life giving nourishment or rotting on the vine. It can be sweet to taste or bitter and
unappetizing.
I know you will agree that what goes in
your month gives you life. However, most
of us forget is that what comes out of your mouth is just as important to your
overall being and all that surrounds you.
So, how are you using your tongue; for the
good or for the bad!!
I posted this article on the blog MONDAY,
FEBRUARY 28, 2011 and thought this is the perfect time to re-post. However, I
changed some due to the situation.
ITS -Monday! Monday! Monday! Especially during
this isolation time of hunkering down.
So full of newness and excitement.
Don’t feel the same way? You’re doing it
wrong!
Here are 20 ways to help you beat the
Monday Blues:
Procrastinate feeling blue. Is a gloomy
cloud forming above your head? Ignore it – you’ll give your attention to it
later, not now.
Wear your best clothes or the cheeriest color
from your wardrobe. You’d be surprised how much your clothes could affect the way
you feel about yourself.
Early start - It may seem like a punishment
to wake up earlier on Monday but trust me, when you have enough time to
organize yourself, you’ll feel like you can conquer the day easier.
Treat yourself in the morning – Sit down
and eat. Enjoy your food. Monday is Pancake Breakfast day for me, so I actually
look forward to Monday mornings. But eat well - although it’s ok to treat
yourself, make sure you eat well. I have a good serving of fruits along with my
pancakes. Have enough to drink too - your malaise could be a sign of
dehydration.
Have a list of why you’re having the blues
– you might be surprised that there will be things on the list that you can
easily work on to make your Mondays better. My problem used to be a completing
work from last week (very difficult to gain momentum after a weekend break)
which brings us to the next point: even if you are at home, you have house work
that need to be completed.
Talk to a friend – it’s most likely he/she
is having the blues too. Keep your conversation short. Remember this is about
taking comfort in the fact that you aren’t alone in this.
Listen to happy songs – a tune can affect
your mood. Let cheery, happy songs be the soundtrack to your Monday.
Dance - just move that body! Jog in place,
stretch, do yoga. You’ll feel less lethargic.
Laugh and smile. Recall happy memories or
a good joke. If you can’t think of any, do it anyway (fake it tills you make
it) Some research is saying that even the thought of laughing raises your
endorphin (feel-good hormones) levels and a fake laughter provides similar
benefits to a real one.
Affirmative statements – Today is a great
day. I will complete my report today. Stick positive messages around your
monitor and take them seriously.
Choose to feel happy. If you don’t already
know, being happy is a choice, so choose happiness!
Buy something new for Monday – it doesn’t
have to be big or expensive – Monday is like a birthday for me. During these uncertain times, I get food
delivery, order supplements or food on line.
Even getting necessities during the week makes me and Dan feel good.
Try something new - you’d be surprise how
easy it is to feel energized by doing something you’ve never done before. A new
dish, a new song.
Plan something special for Monday night – meet
a person or persons on zoom, face time, Skype, or rent a movie. The day will be
easier when you have something to look forward to.
Do not get distracted. YouTube, Facebook,
personal emails. Once you allow yourself to get distracted you will be sucked
into hours of time-wasting activities. If you don’t have the discipline to
limit your distraction to 10 minutes, don’t attempt to do it at all. Reading
blogs like this is another time-sucker so now that you’ve reach the bottom of
the list, why don’t you get working! :) Remember stay positive.
Take a walk, but keep your distance. Dan and I try to walk three miles a day in
our complex.
HOW HAS MEDITATING ON GRATITUDE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE?
Until tomorrow, have a peaceful Monday.
Finally to end with a joke of the day:
