JUNE NEWSLETTER

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
There are a couple of celebrations that are celebrated this month.  One that everyone knows of is Father's Day.  I wanted to personally wish all fathers a Happy Father's Day. Per Webster dictionary, Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 (Saint Joseph's Day) since the Middle Ages. This celebration was brought by the Spanish and Portuguese to Latin America, where March 19 is often still used for it, though many countries in Europe and the Americas have adopted the U.S. date, which is the third Sunday of June.

This month I decided to instead of writing about topics, why not show pictures.  I'm standing by this saying, " A PICTURE CAN TELL A THOUSAND WORDS".

THE MAIN TOPIC THIS MONTH IS -YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

Written on Thursday, April 12, 2012

I am writing this piece for it is the most important step to keep you alive. Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. The key word is nutritional and in today’s world we have taken most of it out of our foods. Since a year and ½ ago I have made it my second highest importance to educate and spread the importance of how food relates to our living or dying. The saying you are what you eat, is so true.

When I was diagnosed with Breast cancer, I thought first, why me and then what did I do to deserve this. I exercised regularly and did not eat junk food. But I did not realize the importance of the value of the food that I was eating. Since then my lifestyle has changed drastically. I chose not to go the conventional way for my treatments with cancer. I did not like the idea of cut, poison and burn. My idea was to find another way that was healthier and had a better rate of survival. I chose a program in Mexico called Functional Medicine and today I have managed my cancer with the help of some awesome people. If you are interested in the program and my journey through my treatments just go to http://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/. At the time of my diagnoses I did not know my purpose, but I do now ~ we must open our eyes to what we are eating for this is what is the center of the destruction.

Food can change everything about you from your looks to how you are feeling. With the research that I have come across it is basically easy to make a change and still be able to enjoy the taste of food. All you have to do is substitute the bad with the good.

For example, processed foods have a lot of man made chemicals with in the ingredients which are harmful to our bodies. We can change by not eating those types of foods and creating your own by preparing with natural ingredients. It will taste the same, but you will live a happier and healthier life span.

Another problem that has been growing throughout our country is our fruit and vegetables are being sprayed with chemicals to kill the insects. Gee, if it is killing the insects, what do you think it is doing to us! I know that this is a big reason we have been getting sick with the diseases that we are facing in today’s world. We can change this if we ban those products and eat organic foods. For the past year I have joined a co-op and with changing my eating habits I have gained a lot of respect for the food I eat.

The definition of a co-op, from the International Cooperative Alliance: "A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise. Co-operatives are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. In the tradition of their founders, co-operative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others." You can Google organic co-ops in your area.

Another way to get organic food is to start your own garden. It is not hard at all, for I live in a condo and have limited space. One day I decided to start my own garden in pots on my porch just to show that it can be done anywhere if you set your mind to it.

SOMETHING I BELIEVE IN
As I have shared before with by writings, I have been very personal for the past eight years with my experience with breast cancer.  I have shared my experience in a diary, book, through my blogs and web sites showing you the different ways I chose to do to help manage my everyday life without having surgery, chemo nor radiation.  I have been straight forward with the results and lifestyle that I have been living with the helps of the doctors and professionals that have taught me how to survive without cut, poison, and burn.

Recently, I was faced with another decision regarding the big C word cancer. When I finished treatment eight years ago, where I had my small pox shot I was told by one of my doctors that it was the toxins coming out of my body.  During that time Dan and I was moving to Mexico.  I was dealing with this circle area forming a scab and not healing.  I went to a doctor where I settled and I was given this medication cream to apply on.  Fast forward while dealing with this issue for four years, I decided before my daughter’s wedding to have this area looked at again.  My family doctor in Mexico advised me to have it cut away and stitched up.

I had procrastinated, thinking that it would go away.  But it was haunting me, following me everywhere and not healing.  I had my sister doing research and finding possibilities of why this area on my arm was not healing.  Well, after a while I took my offer from my doctor and had him preform this minor surgery in his office to sew up the area that was not healing.  At this journey of my life I thought this would be over, went to my daughter’s wedding and forgot all about my arm.  It was finally over and I can continue spreading my healing process with out the conventional way.  But – no this didn’t go away.

Within a year later, the area that was stitched up pulled apart again, now it’s a much bigger opening for some of my skin tissue was cut away.  In my mind I thought here we go again.  Went back to the doctor and he was puzzled, not offering to treat it.  So, I have been seeking other options by going to a natural doctor.  Explaining to them about the theory of toxins coming out of the small pox shot that I had when I was little.  There is not much told about the side effects to the small pox shot.  Remember, these are poisons placed in our bodies given to us by our government.  I tried all kinds of remedies; however, nothing was working.

Again, lets fast forward its eight years later – the present and Dan and I are getting ready to pack for we have been planning to move to the states for two years to be closer to our daughter and family.  Now, I am ready to put this arm business to rest.  Contacted one of the doctors that treated me eight years ago for I have been following him.  He taught me most of what functional medicine is and gave me my life back from CANCER. This met a trip back to Tijuana where my healing began.  Sent the doctor pictures of the arm and the biopsy that was taken now about four years ago showing no cancer.  My reply back was that he can help, but I would have to go to Tijuana for him to take care of it.

Never ever thinking of the worst possible thing CANCER.  Well, he cleaned it up and did another biopsy.  Here, it took ten days for the results to come back.  During the wait Dan and I thought in getting a booster to keep our immune systems up.  We were getting vitamin C drops and other types of vitamins IV’s.  Everyday, the area on my arm was being cleaned and treated. Several days past and it looked like it was getting better and the doctor did not seem worried and was confident that it was on the healing path. The day came, the biopsy report arrived.  That morning, I believe it was Thursday the day before Good Friday we walked in to the clinic and the doctor looked at me and said, “I have some bad news.” My heart was pounding very loud.  We went to his office and talked.  I truly wanted to heal this naturally, but it was going on way too long and Knew the Big C came up again.  This time surgery was necessary. I had escaped surgery eight years ago from breast cancer, but this I could not.  The big day was going to be on Good Friday. I was told about the procedure in which they had to put me under.  This was my first major surgery in being cut into, not afraid for I truly believe in this doctor and he would be in the surgery room with the surgeon.  It was major for I had to have a skin graft also.

Today is a good day 5-8-2019, My doctor called and stated that the biopsy came back clean.   Starting June with a new journey totally.  Everything is possible, believe in what you do and in your decisions.

HERE IS THE STUDY FROM  1974.  I wonder how many since then?

Basal cell carcinoma arising in a smallpox vaccination site

SUMMARY A case of pigmented basal cell carcinoma developing in a smallpox revaccination site is presented. Any progressive change within a smallpox vaccination scar should be thoroughly evaluated and treated appropriately after tissue diagnosis.
Malignant change in post-traumatic scars appears with a clinically significant frequency, most notably squamous cell carcinoma arising in burn scars of long-standing duration. In addition, a variety of other malignant tumours have been reported in chronically traumatised skin.1-3 Malignant change in smallpox vaccination scars has been infrequently described in the world medical literature.5 According to Kulwin6 a total of 54 cases have been reported, of which 31 were basal cell carcinomas, nine were squamous cell carcinomas, and a surprising 13 (24%) were malignant melanomas. A review of the histological types of basal cell carcinomas arising in smallpox vaccination scars revealed only two being described as pigmented.7 The patients' ages ranged from 40 to 60 years, and in most cases vaccination had been performed more than 30 years before the appearance of the lesion. A case terminating in -death was reported by Dorsey et al.8
Case report

A 56-year-old Caucasian woman was revaccinated in the left deltoid area in July 1974. She had been initially vaccinated in 1969 in the right deltoid area. Shortly after the disappearance of the characteristic crusting from the vaccination site aslightly irregular, raised area appeared which very gradually increased in size. Four and one-half years later the patient was seen and noted to have a 24 x 3 cm irregularly pigmented, exophytic lesion on the left upper arm with a central area of ulceration (Fig. 1). Upon careful questioning the patient stated emphatically that the lesion had arisen in precisely the location of the revaccination. No other scars were visible on the deltoid region.

Received for publication 31 July 1979
No nodes were palpable in the left axilla. The lesion was excised with a 1 cm margin, and primary closure was accomplished. Satisfactory wound healing ensued. Histological examination of the specimen revealed a basal cell carcinoma with underlying inflammation (Fig. 2). A central area of ulceration was noted, and a moderate degree of pigment was present within the tumour. The final diagnosis was pigmented basal cell carcinoma. All margins were free of neoplasm.

Discussion
A variety of malignant tumours have been described arising in vaccination sites. Marmelzat9 described the various aetiological factors associated with his reported cases, including the effect of the vaccinia virus, possible contact carcinogens, and the recognised carcinogenic potential in scar tissue. It is well recognised that live viruses can play an inductive role in the formation of tumours in experimental animals.0 Lokich11 observed a malignant melanoma arising in a BCG scarification site. It is interesting to speculate concerning the possible aetiological role
of the vaccinia virus in regard to malignant change within the vaccination scar.
