Hello Everyone,
Today is 11 days since we have been hunkering down and
staying our distance from others. This
is the time of social distancing and our actions are powerful.
Social distancing, is a set of infection control actions
intended to stop or slow down the spread of a contagious disease. The objective
of social distancing is to reduce the probability of contact between persons
carrying an infection, and others who are not infected, so as to minimize
disease transmission, morbidity and ultimately mortality. This is what’s going
on with the corona- virus at this time.
Social distancing is most effective when an infection can
be transmitted via droplet contact (coughing or sneezing); direct physical
contact, including sexual contact; indirect physical contact contaminated); or
airborne transmission can survive in the air for long periods).
With the modern technology, we are able to communicate
through social media. Just today, my
daughter face-timed us and we were able to talk and see what my grandson was
doing. We have gone a long way with
being able to socially connect through the media, not like it was when I was
growing up. Before all this took place,
many people were considered addicted to social media. Now it is an essential, in most cases to keep
in touch with one another and social media is the best way of connecting
through social distancing.
Today I was watching Kelly and Ryan, they are being
creative and streaming from their homes.
They were even wearing housecoats and being real. More and more people are getting real and
doing live streaming. This is the
future!
