SWEET LITTLE BOY

This piece is one of the most powerful and heart felt stories on my blog and is just one shared by many thousands of stories told each year. As a mother and a cancer patient I know first hand how important our children’s well being is ~ precious.

How many children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States annually?

For childhood cancers, an estimated 9,100 new cases are expected to occur among children aged 0 -14, with 1,400 deaths. Cancer is the chief cause of death by disease in children between the ages of 1 and 14. We need to educate ourselves on how to prevent this from happening to more children.

As a cancer patient, I have been relating with other patients. One mother contacted me and told her story about her son. I was inspired by this for he was so innocent and young to understand what cancer was doing to his body. I have written a poem in his honor and will always be blessed to be able to read his story. He will live on in glory and will shine for other children that are affected by this disease. We need to take control and be able to choose what type of treatment for our children.

SWEET LITTLE BOY
Santos Arreola

What a sweet little boy with a smile that would

Brighten up ones day.

His life was short,

But very powerful.

He gave his all with joy and love

With his gestures.

He will never be forgotten,

For he has inspired us all.

Fly my sweet little boy and

Watch over us with your smile.

We will keep you in our hearts

And will never stop thinking of you.

Glow like a star up in the sky

For you have that bright shine.

This will be seen through out the world

What a sweet little boy with a smile that would

Brighten up ones day.
